A Scottish classic. This was the next one to join our range and is extremely popular. We use the same recipe as the fudge, but this is cooked for longer and to a higher temperature which gives it a harder and more brittle texture but with a caramelised flavour. Ideal with tea and coffee or just on its own!
Tablet originated in Scotland during the early eighteenth century. Early 1700’s The Household Book of Lady Grisell Baillie mentions it, though at this time the recipe used sugar and cream. In modern times cream is substituted for milk & condensed milk.
